Yay, I finally got my money that should have been direct deposited on the 22nd, but my bank is so small town and old school, they have no one in on the weekend to credit it... However, it is in there now. My mom is going with my dad today to mention his memory issues to my dad's doctor. I am sure he is going to recommend he get Alzheimers testing. . However, strides are being made all the time with this disease..and with some luck, and the right medication he will last long enough until a cure or reversal is found. I am semi hopeful.

It is, I wish he had an advocate other than my mother in this. She likes to sweep things under the rug.

@snowy22315 Oh that is not good. She has to face this and not just ignore it, it will not just go away or get better on it's own.

Happy you got your deposit! I wish your dad the best. Let us know what you find out. I've been told that the only test for early onset Alz - is a 3 hour cognitive test. ….? I don't know if it's true

Yes, it can be pretty involved..with imaging and so forth. This whole thing with treatment is moving at a snails pace.

I hope the news about your dad comes back hopeful. I'm surprised your bank, even one that is old school, isn't set up for such transactions to happen electronically without a human having any role in whether it shows up in your account.

I know right?? They need to get with the times. It is quite frustrating..but they have zero fees and free checks. (not that I use them that often) I do have another option with a credit union account..but not sure their policies are so generous.

@DWDavis They do..I have had an account with them previously,,but closed it down for some odd reason..maybe because I got this other one.

@snowy22315 Credit unions typically have decent terms when it comes to fees and such. It might be worth looking into.

Let's hope it's not Alzheimer's, but a simple problem of memory due to the age.

I don't know..the reason for this appointment was follow up on lab work,,to make sure he is remaining cancer free..that was all good..but she wouldn't tell me if she discussed anything about his memory issues... I understand it is scary..but if it is Alzheimers, the sooner it is dealt with the better.

@snowy22315 I hope it's not Alzheimer's disease, it is becoming more and more common in our days. None in my family ever had.

Yes, it is. I hope not too..but something is causing him to be confused. I don't think it is just a symptom of old age. My mother is very sharp, well fairly sharp I should say.

@snowy22315 I wrote prolific to see what the hold up was with my money. They said that my account was not taking money anymore. So Circle Pay shut down my account already. Prolific paid me back and I have tried using paypal now. Yes, I had to pay a 84 cents, but it's ok. I don't have the money yet though.

Yes, they have medicines that will slow the progression of the symptoms. Hopefully enough so they can find a cure. They have found a vaccine for it perhaps..but it is testing stages.

Good luck to your dad it's not easy having that disease, he could have dementia also. But hopefully the doctors can catch ti and fix him right up for you. Glad your money got deposited that's always a good thing.

Thanks, apparently they went already. She said the appointment was good in terms of the medical. She didn't mention anything about the memory issues, about whether she even brought it up. That's my chicken mother..

Thank you..it hurts being so far away. Well, yeah, the little town is pretty small. They do have one "big city bank there" but they have too many fees involved. There is a bigger town the county seat that has a few more things, and other banks, plus a credit union..but I don't want to have to go there every time I have a paper check to cash.

I know you already mentioned that the memory issues were not mentioned at the appointment, I am still going to give my best wishes to your father and hopefully it is just that simple "forgetful old person" situation. My grandma is very forgetful, but at least I can tell her the same stories and it is like it is a new story to her each time.
