So Ol' Bernie and AOC Want to Pay Off All Student Loans?

So let me get this straight. It is illegal to pay college athletes, but this plan would turn every unpaid student loan into a paycheck? So anyone who racked up loans then refused to pay them back get a break, but the responsible ones who did pay back the loans get stiffed. Sounds like a de facto tax on honesty and integrity to me.
Liberals simply want government to be their mommy and daddy... or is it their owners?

Once again, you have everything backwards and upside down. I'm not going to bother to explain how you're wrong but I will say that that what you should be upset about is the welfare programs for billionaires that you're forced to pay for.

@ParaTed2k No. And the difference is that paying college students will produce many benefits.
I paid off all my student loans. Many thousands of dollars worth and I see no problem with canceling the current loans.

@xander6464 Don't get me wrong, I don't feel cheated or slighted by this in any way. My own student loans are distant memories so they have no bearing in my position here.
My problem with it is what I posted. It is illegal. It is no different than paying college athletes. It makes the loan checks into paychecks. It is also a de facto tax on the money that is currently being paid back. The people violating the law are being rewarded at the expense of the people complying with the law.
Liberals demand being owned by the government. It's been decades since I've heard an argument from a liberal that wasn't based on government as mommy and daddy.
Listen to the Rush 2112 album. That spells out liberalism to a Tee.

@ParaTed2k Well, you can either have Reverse Socialism, with privatized profits and socialized losses. Which is what we have now. OR you can have Real Socialism that actually benefits people and doesn't allow banks to rip you off.
I don't agree at all your assessment that it's illegal.

Owners for sure....I was responsible and paid mine back. I worked full time and went to school full time to do it. I didn't "enjoy" my college days as in parties and games, it was long days and hard work and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Too bad their are so many unwilling to also put forth an effort, instead wanting to be owned by someone. One day they will grow up and learn that there really isn't anything free in this world.

When there is a lot of debt around then there is a possibility that people can come up with all sorts of ways to pay it back.
