An enjoyable day at the preschool

I worked at the preschool this morning. I worked in a different classroom for the "teacher from Hell," and didn't have to deal with her verbal abuse of kids. The teachers I worked with seemed to enjoy their jobs.
The kids integrated me into their play, and I got help build sandcastles, eat ice cream made for me out of sand, make a few paper airplanes, and "tell stories about when (I) was little."
I also got to interact (at lunch) with a kid who seems to have "selective mutism." I correctly "intuited" that he wanted crackers with his hummus, and told him, "I'm giving you four crackers just in case you want to scoop up your hummus" He did, and was happy.
I also got to interact with my Pampers-set friends, as their playground is right next to the one I worked in today. They all shouted my name and told me things I mostly couldn't understand.
Do (or did) you enjoy your work? I do when I am not bound by others' incompetence.

Being a caregiver is hard. Its demanding. I like being a landlady and I am looking to build that bigger but in a different way, shhhh I have not told anyone.
But I like Sunshine`s homestead creations best. The physical store stuff is more exciting than the online one. I am making stock now. Its all about natural and homemade stuff. Plus I will have a book to offer soon too that goes perfectly with this store.

That is great to devote time with kids. You are doing some great work. I do like my work, but sometimes I find that my bosses try to get too much work without adequate pay.

Things are much more pleasant when you don't have to walk around with a thorn stuck to your foot . I'm so glad you were without that so-called teacher today. At the last place I worked for, I was literally the only employee in the end . . . Mr. and Mrs. Boss (who used to be around ALL the time) decided they didn't have to be there, so they would leave early or not come in at all. I REALLY enjoyed my work when they weren't around .

The end of last Summer, at the other preschool, was one of the most enjoyable teaching times of my life. I had the kids alone outside during the afternoon. They generally turned the play structure into a "boat and tree house." I was "nice pirate" and would bring them macaroni and cheese (imaginary). Then we would water all of the plants. Then their parents would pick them up. There were no arguments, no drama, etc.

I can't imagine a teacher from Hell. They get fired here in Canada, at least I hope they do...You sound like a kids best friend. I like that in a man.

There may be a "cultural" factor here. The "Teacher from Hell," and her friend who has been there for 20 years, are both native Spanish speakers who come from "South of the border." It may be that "absolute compliance" is more a part of Mexican culture, while "celebrating creativity" is more a part of American Liberal teaching culture. I'm not sure. But I do know that that one teacher terrorizes kids, and that they don't "attach" to her.

@TheHorse its sad that they have being mean to kids for 20 years. I would tell on them and let the uppers drop in and find for them selves...I know that is a hard thing to do. My mother was a teacher (teaching Kindergarten and first graders in the 60's.) the town was in trouble because of the main business was closed because of a strike and it went on for a long time. My mother took our little clothes and put them on her dirty kids and she washed their hair. She brought the dirty clothes home and washed them. No one said a word. Today they would toss her out of school ( being helpful.)

I did at the end of last year and look forward to what this year will bring. I like the teacher who will be my lead.

That is so sweet!
Work is still going on for me but it has been a fairly productive day at least!

To bad that there are evil teachers. Why did they persue that kind of career of being a teacher when they don't have enought patience and kind heart for the students.
