Along the River Bank (Part 4)

Norwich, England
June 25, 2019 8:30am CST
From the safer, calmer waters of Horstead Mill (Part 3) we walked past the burnt out mill to the more dramatic side. The water that flows here is almost deafening but is so wonderful to watch. The mill has become a real nature reserve and is an incredibly relaxing place to just wander, standing still once in a while to see the wildlife and listen to the flow of the water or just to sit beside. Life these days is so hectic and, for our mental health as much as our physical health, we should all try to get out and find somewhere peaceful to walk. Everyone needs to commune with nature once in a while.

Rushing water can be incredibly noisy. You're right about being in nature being good for our mental health.

I absolutely love being in nature, it is so peaceful and God's creation always amazes me. =)

I totally agree with you there but not just once in a while, it really should be an everyday part of life!

I suspect, like me, you're one of the lucky ones who live close to nature. I lived on the outskirts of Norwich for a while and hated it. Was so glad to get back to the country.

@olliesmum We're not exactly in the country but luckily have open spaces around us. But it's surprising what you see even in unlikely places. I enjoy the writing of David Lindo (aka the Urban Birder) who writes in the RSPB magazine about the things he spots in cities!
