Camping in Montana

This month we have spent it camping in thecwoods in Butte, Montana. During the first of the month, we had to get our waterpump replaced and that took a large chunk of our finances. So, we knew we would be here until next month. It hasn't been bad. We have a great spot with privacy, no one else can camp by us, and this area does get busy on the weekends with ATV's and other campers. We are only 15 minutes away from town where we can get whatever we need. So this really has been a great little place to call home this month.
One thing that has made interesting staying here is the unpredictability of the weather. In just one week, we have experienced all for seasons here in the month if June. We have had snow, sleet, hail, high winds, sunny hot days, and lots of rain. I have enjoyed it all. Even though during the bad weather we have to stay inside the van, it did not bother me at all. Next month we will be heading into Wyoming to camp. Traveling through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons will be part of the adventure. It is one if my favorite places in the country. My husband and I worked in Yellowstone a few years ago for the summer season. We are now retired and looking forward to experiencing the park as campers. Life on the road is always an adventure.

@MistyckMoon I will check out his channel. I have been a camper my whole life and got my wife into it when we first got married. Both my boys grew up Scouting. Until the youngest went off to college, we were avid tent and backpack campers.
After he moved out, my wife and I attended several RV shows, sat in on some seminars, found a camping club, and bought a used popup just to see if we would really like camping up off the ground.
We did.
We joined the camping club, a local chapter of the Family Campers and RVers Association, moved up to a hybrid and now have a 5th-wheel. We plan for the 5th-wheel to be our retirement home on the road.

Be sure get all the information you can get! I love this life as many nomads do. Maybe one year before you retire, you can take a trip to Quartzsite, AZ in January. That is where the largest community of full time Rver's and Vandwellers gather for the winter. There is a gathering every year called the RTR-- Rubber Tramp Rendezvous. They always have guest speakers that share will share their expertise on all kinds of information for living on the road full time. The man that runs it is quite the guru of nomad living. He has a huge fan base following on YouTube and has even been interviewed on national news. His channel is called Cheaper RV Living snd his name is Bob Wells. My husband and I are still learning alot and often turn to his videos when we need informationnon something.

@MistyckMoon I reckon I could do it full-time but my husband isn't so keen.

You will have a fabulous time I'm sure! If long term camping is something you haven't done before, the 4 month will let you know if this is something you can do full time.

I love the town of Butte! It has just about everything you need without it being a big city.

The life at home can also be an adventure. It is just a matter of time and circumstances

That's true. The road and this van is my home. Not everyone lives in traditional homes.

I haven’t been in Montana, but I definitely want to take a road trip there soon. This coming holiday weekend, my husband and I plan to go to Bronson and have a mini vacation.
I used to go mountain climbing when I still live in the Philippines. Maybe I can do that again when we finally go to Montana for that much anticipated road trip.

We live and travel in our van so camping is our lifestyle. We love it!
