Fried Catfish Dinner

I have the best neighbor. She had a family get together at her home today. A fish fry is what it was called. Someone's birthday. She has a large family and always has something going on. I received an invitation but had errands earlier so I could not attend. I got a knock on the door just now. There she stood with a plate full of fried catfish. She is in her 80s. Very active. And such an inspiration. I know what my dinner will be now. Dinner plans for you? Ever had such a nice neighbor?

That sounds delicious and yes, we have good neighbors. I don't know if they're as good as yours. That haven't brought us food yet.

Yes it was very good. Many people are nice around here. I hope the new neighbors will be the same. Lots of new construction.

Yes it really was, I was surprised. She will also bring me cuttings of her beautiful flowers in her garden. No slowing down for her... in her 80s!

@CarolDM She stares and asks stupid questions. We have a yard outside and she comes there uninvited. It's our yard and we don't have privacy.

I don't eat fish, but when I used to, I never had catfish. What is that like?

It does not have a strong fish taste, that is why I like it. Very tender meat.

aw, how sweet 'n delicious! i miss the days back'n the hills 's such 'twas done there. lots 'f get togethers, loads 'f foods shared with all 'round. seems the elderly're more prone to such thoughtfulness? won't know what'd be fer supper here 'til the hubs gets home from work. whate'er i fix, he claims to've eaten fer dinner whilst 't work.

Wow. A full plate of fried catfish? I LOVE catfish, and fried at that? What a treat. I WISH I had a neighbor like that.
