Males tend to be color blind. My husband can’t see purple although he has learned what purple looks like but if you asked him what our comforter color is he’ll says it’s gray when it’s purple. He can’t see in Green blue spectacular which is where purple is. It sounds like your in Red Blue which is a common in color blindness. Our middle child struggles seeing green he says it’s red so I suspect st his age is is green blue.

You don't 'get' colour blindness. It's something you are born with. It sounds like something that you might want to see a doctor about. I believe that jaundice can sometimes affect colour vision (as well as turning the whites of your eyes yellow).

@evans777 No. You see the colours you see always from the beginning. I guess that you only realise that you see things different from anyone else when someone points out that two colours are different yet you see them as the same.
When you notice that you are seeing things differently from the way you used to see them, it's time to see an eye specialist (or a doctor).

I always thought you were born with colour blindness and it seems by reading the other comments that that's the case. It would be a good idea to have your eyes checked.
