I Can't Believe I Haven't Been to MyLot in Almost a Month

I don't know where the time goes. I was sick for a week and then had a lot to catch up on. I was barely well enough by Monday of the next week to drive to a doctor appointment with Hubby in San Luis Obispo. I had to drive because Hubby's knee was acting up.
I still needed to get more pictures of the Elfin Forest in Los Osos for a blog post the next week. Hubby stayed in the car and watched the the scenery while I walked around and took photos. I got lost trying to get back to the car. There's much more to that story, but I already wrote it on a blog post elsewhere.
When I finally got back to the car we stopped at Costco to shop while we were in San Luis Obispo. I came home exhausted. Tuesday night of that week I had Bible Study and I had to finish a major blog post which was due on Wednesday. I only got four posts written for Medium in June during the pay period. I've gotten three more published this week.
I'm had to do more around home while Hubby's been less mobile and needed a lot more service. He was also unable to do some of what he usually does so I had to do it. I'm glad he's able to drive again and get back to swimming. He's stopped hurting so much.
All other blogs suffered terribly while I spent so much time on Medium in the past months. But I finally figured out how to get more done. Medium lets one import posts from one's other blogs. I imported two this week. So I can write a post on one of my blogs, publish it, import it into Medium, and change a few things to make it a bit unique. I can then go back to the original post and add affiliate links to related books or products on Amazon or Zazzle that I cannot put on Medium posts.
The basic content is the same, but people who don't belong to Medium can still read almost the same content from my blog. Working this way will help me get twice the mileage for almost the same amount of work. I do not yet know how it will help or hurt my earnings to keep doing this.
I'm yawning and had better go to bed soon. I'm going to see what the rest of you have been up to after I post this.

You can usually put a link to your blog in your profile. Some publications let you link to specific posts within your Medium articles if they are relevant to your posts. But they don't allow you to write articles designed for the sole purpose of getting people to your own site.

@porwest I struggled over whether to make the $50 commitment. But since mid-February I've made it back and more and I still have seven months to go. (Can't believe the time has gone so fast. ) Besides that I've learned a lot from others by having free access to all the articles behind the paywall. One series about how our brains work has been especially fascinating, and I doubt if I ever would have run into this information by myself. I opted to try for the yearly rate instead of spending $5 to try for a month. Why? Like with most sites, it takes more than a month to find your readers and get followers and learn what works for you. Another writer figured if you publish three to five articles a week you should at least earn your money back and probably more.

@JohnRoberts Do you often visit my territory? It's only 40 minutes from home for me.

Good to hear that there are others who lose their way I thought I was the only one. (lol)
You had plenty to do which surely needed your time.

I always have more than enough to do. Boredom has never been a problem, at least.

Glad your husband is feeling better. Sounds like you are tired. Rest my friend. I am on Medium also. I have not been there in a long time now. I am also on a site called MIX which used to be Stumble upon. Again, I have not been there yet. I am trying to get back into writing more on here and posting them up on Medium and Mix. I am also on Tumblr but I don't know if they have been working to keep Tumblr going or not. Yahoo bought them then Verizon bought Yahoo. So who knows what will happen there. I am tired of Facebook, it has gotten so boring and stupid in the last few years. Something new needs to come along. I will try and get on the other sites. Too bad they don't pay like MyLot does. But they can help get our content out there.

I'd like to make money, but sometimes I'd also like to forget about being online at all and go on a reading binge, socialize, or sit and talk to my husband or even catch up on my decluttering.

Yes, it's a long time to be away. But I can only stretch myself so thin! Then I have to start cutting down on what I can do so I don't burn out or wear out.

Yesterday only I came to know that we can import our blogs to medium. Definitely, it can add extra bucks.
