Today is the last Saturday in June. And it is filled with sunshine. Just went out and changed the water for the birds. They have fresh water now to bathe and drink from. I do that twice a day when it gets his hot in the summer.
Don't mind at all helping the birds out. I have seen them raise many families in my yard this year. I want to keep them around. One way is to provide water.
Sharing a photo from one of the baby robins earlier this spring in a pine tree. First time to see baby robins. I still see them in the yard. I hope they stay around. As long as they don't keep running off the bluebirds. First year without bluebird babies. Maybe next year will be better.
Enjoy birds and other wildlife in your yard? Do you keep fresh water out for the birds? Plans for this weekend?

At one of the city pools I manage, we have had wrens build a nest in a staff cubby hole in the lifeguard office for the past dozen years. Our staff looks forward to the baby birds every spring!

@CarolDM Yes, they are cool little birds, and they will definitely build their nests anywhere! We love every year when the the little hatchlings leave the nest, but are still too small to fly. They run around the lifeguard office scurrying here and there, and our lifeguards have to be super careful not to step on them as they are meandering around!

@moffittjc Cool they are comfortable in nesting so close to humans.

I keep 3 tubs fill with water, that way any thirsty bird can get a drink.
Yesterday I finally got a good look at the resident lizard, it's either dark brown or black and went to my peppermint patch to get water from a leaf, I'd just finished watering the my trees and such. Naturally I didn't have my camera with me

I see a lot of birds and squirrels here.
I have not yet been able to find a place to put water for them where these brats of kids dont knock it over. They just destroy everything they see.

It is so nice to hear the birds sing. You are lucky to have so many birds visiting your yard. I also put water and some bird seeds for them especially during the dry season.

I enjoy when they visit. But unfortunately very few visit us now a days. Most are lost in this city life.
You are doing a noble job to help those birds out.

I like the birds, but there are not too many colorful ones here. I have a bird bath, but even when I kept water in it, it wasn't really used. With a lake a few blocks away..don't think the birds feel the need to use it actually.

aw, sweet pic! i fear there's not been many baby birds, nor adults 'round here this year. i'm purty certain they disliked the growin' herd 'f feral cats 'n decided to find better nestin' grounds. i've water out fer 'em 'n then there'd be the pond. 'f course, i quit feedin''em, too. made 'em too easy prey fer those felines...
shockin'ly, i did've a baby robin though jest the other day. 't least i know one survived thus far.
no plans :)
