Is It Worth It?

July 2, 2019 1:44pm CST
I do watch some YouTube videos whenever I have the chance to, and there are quite a number of users who love to explore abandoned buildings, rumored to be haunted hotels or apartments and the perimeter of state land properties and stuff like that. They are motivated because of viewership; subscribers and fans from all over the world. Some are indeed doing pretty well, while others get sponsorship to do more coverage for content and stuff like that. Do you think it's worth it to risk safety and other unknown factors for all of that? They make good money along in the process, and gain admiration and adulation, while going through extreme measures to get the desired bang for the buck content and thus, subscribers. Given the opportunity, would you film yourself being in any of these places? Do you think it's worth it. Let me know what you think down below. Many thanks. - ihasaquestion

I was amaze when I saw on TV how much a vlogger from Youtube is earning, it’s 50,000 pesos (976.37 USD) imagine how much that is. If given a chance why not. I would love to.

@ihasaquestion Hmm. Sounds creepy, but I won’t choose to be alone, and I think I should equipt myself with something that makes me comfortable.

But how about the risk factor of going into abandoned buildings or to stay in a haunted room for say, a night. Is it worth it?

As a photographer as well as a writer, I love old buildings. I love going inside --- when it's legal. If there is a no trespassing sign, i will take pictures from the outside and honor the owner's wishes. But had I the opportunity to go into one of those old hotels, or hospitals or whatever, I'd jump at the chance. There are so many opportunities for view of things one cannot get elsewhere. (Okay so I am weird.)

I can understand your point of view there as a photographer. There's always a story behind it all.

@ihasaquestion exactly and it is interesting to see how things deteriorate over time.

While I could use the money, I can't see myself earning it that way.

Me too. But it seems like a good trend nowadays.

I might if I could go during the day. I definitely wouldn't go at night.

I find it too creepy. I am not at all fascinated by it and I don't even watch such videos. I think I will not do it for all the money in this world unless I badly need that money.

@ihasaquestion I don't mind doing extra hard work for money than trying these fast unsafe ways to earn it.

Hi kurniawan. Thanks for gracing my older discussion. That's really good for you. This can be something new and refreshing and it's kind of the trend too nowadays. And cool that you don't believe in ghosts and etc.

@ihasaquestion For me, no, not worth it but sure is fun watching other people do it as long as they are being safe and mature about it.
