After Monday's marathon leaflet sessions, we were both quite exhausted but a long hot bath and a good night's sleep saw us up and ready to walk again on Tuesday. We're dropping leaflets door to door for the up-coming district council elections and supporting the candidate in our village. We're in a solid Conservative heartland but pretty teed-off that the local Conservative party respect our ward so little that they've put up a 19-year-old student who neither lives nor studies in our area. Some have said you could put up a paper bag with a blue rosette and it would get elected. We have no big expectations of our Lib Dem candidate actually winning but the local labour party candidate doesn't even seem to be campaigning so we're optimistic for a strong second place. On Tuesday we walked the next village. It's much hillier than ours with some very complicated little lanes and back routes to investigate. I got serious property envy as some of the places we saw were absolutely gorgeous. I think today is going to be less intense. We've completed all the first round of leaflet distribution and may do a couple of hours of envelope stuffing. But first we've got seats at the cinema this afternoon to see 'Yesterday'. Yesterday's step-count for the day - 11,700 steps bringing us up to more than 35,000 for the first two days of the Million Step Challenge.

You're doing well with the step-count. And good luck to your candidate too.

I'm about 600 steps short today but I've banked enough the past two days that it won't matter.

Oh my goodness, you are walking A LOT this is exhausting, even if for the good cause. Do not walk during the hottest hours of the day, be careful.
