Unusual animals that have eaten out of my hand in the last month

When I took my recent road trip to Iowa, I had a good time at a rest stop in Wyoming. There were prairie dogs who were quite used to humans, and I got some to take bread from my Subway sandwich right out of my hand.
Today, I went to Tiburon CA, were my friend and I had our guitars looked at by a luthier (guitar maker/fixer) who is good at cosmetic repairs. After that, we had lunch at a "classy" Cafe on the water.
The birds that walked around the floor there, like pets, were not seagulls, like the ones I encountered in Utah (yes, Utah). They were pigeons, who had apparently abandoned the statues of San Francisco, flown over to Marin County, and discovered the life of luxury.
While I ate my fish and chips, and enjoyed my $10 glass of wine, I hand-fed pigeons, something I had never done before.
So now, this Spring/Summer, I have hand-fed two species of animals by hand that have never fed before. If I can find it, I will attach a picture of one the prairie dogs I fed in Wyoming.
Do you enjoy feeding unusual animals by hand? Some humans are "against" it, but I enjoy it. Humans are a part of the eco-system.

Come to Kentucky and you can have lunch with two rare birds, the skinny Lori bird and the hillbilly music chirping bird.
Don’t think I have ever seen a prairie dog in person.

@1creekgirl — we didn’t do it, and neither of us drink it.

I thought about you and Lori when we heard the news about the explosion at a Jim Beam factory in Kentucky. Lots of jokes to follow, I'm sure. But hope no one got hurt.

I dont like seeing wild animals fed as I have seen the damage when they get too comfortable. Even deer can be very dangerous.

@TheHorse Those hooves are very sharp. They can slice an animal wide open not too mention stomping on you. Pigeons will start swamping there more too. If nothing else parents will teach the babies Then it will be a bird poop fest. Unless the numbers are kept controlled somehow.

@wolfgirl569 I was wondering, as I ate my fish and chips, how they kept that restaurant from becoming pigeon central. The pigeons stayed on the floor where the goodies are. Have you ever had a bad incident with a deer? I have not.

Just as long as you didn't feed your hand to them...

I have. Ever fed a raccoon? their little hands/paws are so very soft .I had one actually take the candy bar from me and unwrap it like a human before eating it.

I'd hesitate to feed an alligator or a mountain lion. I can't remember if I got a seagull to eat out of my hand near Salt Lake City. I think not. I used to feed squirrels by hand on the University of Chicago campus when I was a kid.

It could be enjoyable, but be cautious of some prairie dogs, they might have rabies.
