'In the Heart of a Seed'

What a happy feeling to see our grade one granddaughter this morning, joining her classmates on stage reciting in chorus this children's poem, "The Plant" by Kate L. Brown.
"In the heart of a seed,
Burried deep, so deep,
A dear little plant
Lay fast asleep.
"Wake up," said the sunshine
And creep to the light.
"Wake," said the voice
Of the rain-drops bright.
"The little plant heard
And it rose to see
What the wonderful
Outside world might be."
Do you know some kids' poems? Could you still recite them by heart?

Wonder why I never came across this beautiful poem
There are those nursery rhymes I know most of them

This is not included in a nursery rhymes. It's used by some teachers to let the graders memorize a poem.
