You see strawberry plant is harder to grow in the Philippines. Only on the colder places in our region which is in higher altitude.
So you can imagine how glad I am when I saw this strawberry plant growing in a bamboo plant in the municipality called Cervantes-around 2 hours drive in my residence. Also a remote municipality.
The local government trying to grow the strawberry and look, it got fruits already. Still green because not yet ripe. They used the bamboo as pots by putting soil in it. Its effective, they grown the strawberry.
Strawberry is very expensive here. And thanks to strawberry farm in the province of Benguet who supply us this lovable fruit.

I have seen like one in my home province where its not cold and low altitude. I think this variety of strawberry has already adopted to grow in places that are not cold anymore. They just need frequesnt watering and shade to not being hit by direct sun.

@ilocosboy From what I know from there the plant came from your region and they experimented on planting there and it succeeded to grow and bear fruit. Although they admitted that the plant is very sensitive to temperature that they have to water it very often so they would not dry out.

Indeed very sensitive, some farms need to shut down visitors and tourists because it affects the growing of the strawberry plant.

It would be good if they have found a way to grow strawberries more easily.

I guess some farmers are venturing into strawberry farming, though they are disturbed by the tourists who wanted to have a selfie in strawberry farm.

That's good news for you. I like strawberries, too. I live in an area where there are loads of strawberry fields. People can go there and pick them themselves. Then they are weighed by the owner of the field and paid for. They are cheaper than in the shops, of course, because you don't have to pay for the pickers, too.

I can imagine how beautiful the strawberry farm in your place. It could be a tourist attraction just like when one farmer here tried to plant strawberries in his field, a tv reporter featured it and then people started to come, lots of them, the farmer need to close the area because the plants are disturbed by the people coming from different places.

If you are living in low-lying places I think its not possible. Even in my place we cannot grow strawberry here.
