Current Projects -- What are you working on?

A few months ago I purchased a framed stretched canvas painting from a thrift store for a dollar. After painting over the original painting with gesso, I set to work on doing my own painting. It has been quite a challenge because I have had to relearn how to do a lot of things. It has been... Maybe 10 years since I worked with acrylics? But I am pleased with the result so far.
So what is this a painting of? Its fan art of one of my favorite games; Animal Crossing! Its relaxing, colorful and cute. I really wanted something from the game that I could put on my wall that captured what I love about it and this is the result. I still have quite a bit of work to do and I suspect the new game will be out on the switch by the time I finish it, but it will hopefully be worth it.
So what projects are you working on at the moment? What made you decide to do them? How long do you think it will take before you finish them?

My current project is a new YA novel about young love, a ghost, and a family mystery. I write YA coming-of-age romantic stories because I enjoy creating clean enjoyable reading for teens on up. I hope to finish my first draft of this by the end of summer.

@things4gotten Not editing as I write is tough for me. Especially when the lines keep showing up under words.

@DWDavis Are you doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month? I know turning off that inner editor is a big theme for people who participate in that.

Writing a novel can be quite a big project and I wish you luck!
Writing is my alternate project at the moment. I am not doing a novel for publishing or anything, but I have a paracosm (I think that is the term for it?) that I started on when I was 12 years old and I am trying to type up all the old writings that have accumulated from it over the years as a means of preserving them. So far revisiting things has been a fun and cringeworthy experience. I keep getting overwhelmed because there is an entire chest full of stuff to go through and organize. I also keep wanting to edit.

That sounds exciting! I have thought about starting a blog myself a few times but whenever I try to apply myself to making one I get too nervous and critical of myself.

@things4gotten I know how do you feel. But I want to start since it can be good passive source of income.

I'm wondering what 'fan art' is? I think you've done very well with this.

Basically artwork produced by fans of some form of fiction. And thank you! I have been working on it for a few months though and am excited to show off some of the progress I have made with it.
