Too much selfie is bad.

A friend of mine from High School posted something about her husband. Reading about it makes me wonder why they got separated. Last year they were too happy as a Family. And now, she’s the one who take care of her two kids with no job. But last three months she was working in the mall as a waitress in a fine dining restaurant. Lucky for her she was hired. Not most of the applicant are hired especially if you are in your 30’s and then she left the job.
As I was scanning through all the comments, I find out that she was having a problem of herself, they said that the reason her husband leave her is that she keeps posting selfie of herself most of the time. She keeps taking pictures of herself even in public places, everywhere and her husband is getting sick already of her constant taking selfies.
Hmm. That’s weird. I know it’s not bad to take selfie of yourself but always? As I check my newsfeeds, all I can see is her face.
Your thoughts?

I agree with @rakski that the selfies were just one part of the problem between them. She sounds like someone who is either very wrapped up in themselves or someone who is very insecure about themselves. In either case, she wants everything to be about her. I hope she gets some help to determine why she's behaving in this way.

Selfies in my view can be dangerous since there are horror stories of people getting hurt taking their own picture in dangerous areas around the world. Not to mention a person can fall In love with themselves.

I don´t belong to the selfie generation. As such, I am not much interested in them.

@marguicha And it’s too bad. This friend of mine will post selfie every hour, and I unfollow her.

So I had a fellow mom friend whom I met through my daughter's early years in a class. The woman was young and often talked about how she did not do much for herself (makeup, hair, etc). When the kids got a little older and she was about mid 30s, she went through some early mid-life crisis. She lost weight, became fashionable, wore make up, got an amazing hair cut . . . she really beautified herself and started taking a lot of selfies and posting them on Facebook. She also went looking to go back to school or get a career. But her husband thought she prettied herself up to lure other men (which was actually not the case) - he got super jealous - and he demanded she stop with the selfies and such. My friend did not listen. With all these other arguments, they ended up hating each other - and by that time her friendship with all of us got sour as well - not sure if they finally divorced each other. But maybe it went down something like that with your friend too.

I actually realized a bunch of people I went to school with are divorced due to social media and their appearance.

@JustBhem Yep. It's good to balance. I see many where revealing clothing and not act like themselves. This could lead to arguments and what not. I'm sure theres something else involved but that could be a major factor.

Taking too many selfies can be considered as a psychological disorder.

@JustBhem Even texting and just looking on your phone all the time is not good especially if you have to cross the street with kids. It's now prohibited in our City.

@cherriefic Exactly, maybe that’s one reason triggered the husband.

I think that is a bad reason for the husband to leave her, just because she is a constant selfie taker?

I cannot imagine this would be the only reason for marital discord. But I agree it seems a bit strange. Maybe she is a bit Narcissistic? On the other hand it is a good way to show people where you have been and what you are doing. I do not do this. I do not like my picture taken. I like being on the other side of the camera.

Perhaps she is so pleased to her look and therefore she likes to take selfies. Perhaps we are not interested in seeing others' selfies so often, but I think it is still not a reason for her husband to leave her. If he has a problem with it, at least he can try to talk with her. It is silly to leave her because of it.

There must be other reasons as taking selfie is an indication of some issue she has.
