we had a new front desk woman hired at work about 2 months back.
now as anybody who has worked in a hotel like environment knows, front desk and everyone else usually don't get along anyway.
most have never cleaned a room in their life,a lot sit around for the greater part of the day and get paid better than us,and often utter the "are you done yet" push for rooms, which does not endear them to anyone.
this woman waltzed in with a chip already on her shoulder, and in the first week of her employment, managed to piss everyone off.
except the boss,of course..who at that time thought she was a great worker.
she had no business inspecting rooms with no experience, and would often leave the boss a practical essay the next day of things she found wrong.
she wrote me up for a hair.
a single freaking hair..which for all i know, could have fallen off her own head.
long story short, her ramblings had the boss up our butts for the next 2 weeks, chiding us with comments to the point everyone almost quit.
fast forward to last week..
well, little miss snitchy pants has already tired of the job..and is doing the bare minimum.all the while still writing nonsense..
she decided one night she wasn't doing the leftover towels (this is an inn, she's required to)..and promptly threw wet, dirty towels in the dryer without washing them.well and good..
..but they had poop on them.
and she ended up contaminating the whole lot.
we had to go back to each room and make sure none got out.
i looked at the front desk woman on duty who found them.
"WRITE HER UP.WRITE HER UP RIGHT NOW!".
she didn't want to,but she knew i was right.
they called her later to ask what happened..she basically said "i don't care.oh by the way..i'm sick.i'm not coming in".
dish it out,but can't take it,huh?
i heard she might of quit.
asta la bye bye,beeyooch.
i've seen some disgusting stuff in my time at work but......or butt?

My daughter-in-law is a front desk person, maybe it is different here or just at her hotel. They all seem to get along, and yes, if the work is not done or she is on breakfast shift, she picks up any slack. On the other hand I can totally believe what your are saying, those same kinds of people have been more than an annoyance at several types of jobs I have had. What they do not understand is if they do not support the other parts of the staff eventually no one will have a job.

exactly.i think part of the problem is they're not paying very well so no one cares.
