Some users talk about hundreds of notifications every single day

I read posts about some users here finding it difficult to cope with notifications that flood their notification page. I wonder why this happens. myLot these days is not that active and those that talk about having a cluster of notifications also talk about not earning much.
I wonder if those notifications also include likes. One can stop having those notifications by going to settings and disabling that option.

NO, my notifications do not include "likes", I removed this a month after I joined. Yesterday I had more than 200, this morning a lot less, as you can see from my screenshot. I cleared the notifications yesterday evening before dinner. If you interact a lot you expect many notifications.

I know you interact a lot but I doubt if there are others who interact the way you do. Do you get that many every single day?

@allknowing I have more than 100 every morning, it depends how long I interacted during the previous day. When I have no time to clear the notifications before going to sleep I have always more than 150 in the morning.

You interact with almost everyone on myLot, Anna.
I believe I had a total of 36 notifications today... but I interact with only a few people now, too. Which is fine since I don't have much time I can be on myLot anymore. *shrug*

And your notifications would be without likes. Right?

No point in wanting to know who have liked our posts.

Yup I also disabled it on my settings because the notification seem to flood my email box and sometimes for one post I would received notification on likes and comments and mentions of me. I turned only the mentions of me and responded and my notification lessened to a much bearable number already.

I just came back after a short break and I have very few notifications at the moment. In the past I sometimes I had 300 or 400 notifications. I didn't receive them all in one day, but some of them were 3 or 4 days old and they kept growing. Now I disabled some of the notifications, so I guess it will easier to manage the list now.

@allknowing Yes, it is easier that way. I edited my notification settings a short time ago. In the beginning I didn't disable any of them.

Where there is no action needed no point in enabling them.

@allknowing Right. When I sign on I don't pay any attention to the number of notifacations I just start answering them. I have commented in the past that I was behind but that is behind also.

It depends on how many interacted , and many I interacted with. Most days about 50, if I skip a few days more. So it is possible I suppose.

As you can see in the settings there are several options for notifications and some of which are really not necessary They just clutter the notifications page.

We can have many notifications that are essentially for the same thing and can therefore be ignored. Originally, I had it set to email me notifications but then stopped that. It can get annoying when there are many. And it is not even necessary as I can log in and see notifications in my account.

When we properly adjust our settings for notifications, there's an even flow each day.

Yes, I have a feeling the notifications of most of the people complaining of having too many notifications are mostly likes, someone commented on your response to a discussion, comments to a response on someone else's discussion or likes my response to a discussion...
If the person isn't talking to me, I have no use for a notification about it. I shut down all other notifications on my third day on myLot.
When I was on myLot more, my notifications could reach 250 or more per day with those others shut off... lately my notifications reach maybe 50 notifications total per day.

@allknowing Back when I was newer on myLot, I also took care of my notifications as quickly as I could. Now, I have little time, other than like now, when I should be asleep, to take care of them, Grace.
I try to make sure I've cleared them all before I go to sleep so nobody has to wait for my replies. (I was actually shutting down my pc when your notification appeared.)

@allknowing Yes. Later on they will find too bulky but it has no value, then they will adjust their notifications setting.
