New Ice Cream Licking Challenge

There is this new challenge/craze now where people go to grocery stores, open a carton of ice cream, lick it, and put it back in the freezer. Some even film themselves doing it and share the videos to social media.
There are some nice people who actually buy the ice cream after licking it and putting it back in the freezer but many do not. Some have been caught and arrested for this.
I am assuming this is happening only in the United States but I could be wrong. I don't know who came up with this stupid challenge and wonder why it's becoming so popular.
I can imagine a customer going into the store and buying a carton of ice cream only to get home and find it's been opened and licked. I'd be upset if it were to happen to me.

Apparently, if they film themselves doing it and then share the video with the world. Some will do anything for a few minutes of fame.

@lovebuglena There is a solution. Ice companies need to start having a plastic seal around lids. Surprised they don't already.

All because of that one person that did it. People are disgusting. You might not even notice if it was licked; and these people could be carrying who knows what disease? I'd be p****d if it happened to me.

@lovebuglena Many silly fads cross the Arlantic which could have stayed in the US of A. This is why I'm surprised that I haven't read anything about this one (yet).

I will only buy the ones that are sealed up, like Mayfield in a paper box if its open I am not buying it, right now Tony is the only person that eats it anyways.
Tampering with food is a class 2 felony, if they want jail time they should keep it up, get rid of all the trashy and disrespectful people.

From what I know most ice cream cartons have a plastic seal underneath the cover. But these crazy people can just rip it off, lick the ice-cream, cover it back up and put it back in the fridge. I am thinking from now on if I ever decide to buy cartons of ice cream I should open the lid to see if the plastic covering is still there and has not been opened.

@lovebuglena Yes but they need to make a better seal, like the plastic wrapped around the outside of the lid. You know the boxes I am talking about? You have to rip the paper corners up to get inside.

Those that do it must not think it's disgusting but I agree that it is.

They sure are. At least this is less dangerous than the tide pods challenge.
