He was clearly told to go to the doctor within a week, and to make a cardiologist appointment. He is pretending he is being proactive about his health..says he is looking for his BP machine, and he might be able to get one free from the insurance company. He says he is going to "drop his discharge summary" at the doctor's on Monday, then he will see the neurologist on Tuesday. I said what is he going to do for you? He said, well I am just going to tell him I'm OK... In another words, he isn't doing what he was told to do. Also he keeps going out for breakfast, not McDonalds, at least..when he would be better off cooking at home..or even eat a bowl of cereal. It is frustrating..but you can't help others who don't want to help themselves.

I think really in his case, the best thing to do is to remind him that people care about him and how he is doing.

@sophie09 That is about the best I can do. It is crazy he doesn't have a NO machine available yet.

I guess at some points we all get unwilling to do things that are good for us, but when you have suffered, and your life could be at stake..I would say it is time to act!

There are people like that no matter how we push them to go straight to doctors, still so frigid and unmindful. They only have the courage to go if feel something serious. Maybe he is feeling well so he has the trust of not going to the neurologist or perhaps afraid to know the reality.

This would be maddening but as you say there is not much you can do about it.

All I can do is remind him what the doctors told him, and remind him his life is at stake.
