I went to the local cherry festival today. It always takes place in July, and there are many different activities. A woman is dressed as Cherry Queen, and there are different kinds of competitions and concerts. It is also possible to buy cherry cakes and cherry ice cream.
The area in the middle of the town was extremely crowded. When we arrived it was impossible to find a place to sit, but that was okay, because we don't like crowds anyway, and we didn't want to sit next to the stage. In the other end of the town there is a bridge, and we decided to sit there. We were able to listen to the music anyway because it was very loud..
We bought cherry ice cream and it was very delicious. They only sell it during the festival. They also sell small baskets that contain cherries, but we didn't buy any. We already have cherries at home.
Tonight there will be a parade, but it takes place late at night and we left in afternoon, so we didn't see it. The festival ends tomorrow.

No, the woman in the photo is the Cherry Queen. She walks through the streets wearing her costume and many people take photos of her. A grape festival sounds interesting too.

@raveeen Yes, it is very popular. If you want a seat near the concerts and the other activities you have to arrive really early.

The ones we buy in the stores usually cost about $4 (half a kilo) At the moment most stores sell them. We bought some yesterday. We also like strawberries and rashberries.
