hey guys...Good Evening...Hope you guys are doing fine.. Its been a long time since i've posted a discussion..the water scarcity in south india especially in Chennai is getting worse.. the monsoon failure in the past years have left the city of chennai to suffer... the ground water level has went alarmingly down...the rivers have gone dry...the dams and reservoirs are left with very little water...by seeing the condition of one of the famous cities in the world.. Leonardo Di Caprio posted an instagram post explaining the water crisis faced by the people of Chennai...if only the people of chennai begin to harvest rainwater this situation could be controlled.

I have heard about the water crisis in India from several of our media outlets. I hope that this situation can be resolved eventually, and that rains come and refill your lakes, rivers and reservoirs. People all over the world are starting to face water shortages, and so hopefully we as human beings figure out innovative ways to store and supply water to our people.

@Kuttu_007 The solution is easy, it's just too expensive. Desalinization plants can turn ocean water into fresh drinking water, but it is a very expensive and very time consuming process. However, there are many places on the planet that have no choice but to build desalinization plants, or else they wouldn't have enough fresh water for their population. It would be nice if we could come up with an easier and cheaper way to do it.

"if only the people of chennai begin to harvest rainwater this situation could be controlled" If it could be done then why are they not doing it? Do you yourself live in Chennai?

@Kuttu_007 Situation may also be controlled if the biased media would also focus attention to the news of South India rather being stuck to only news of certain states in India.
