Slowly gearing up for back to school

We are hardly halfway through our summer and I am already slowly starting to get the kids ready for back to school.
Old navy was having some promotions on their uniform pieces so I have ordered a handful of shirts for the younger 2 children. They still have some usable shirts from last year, but I like to get some new ones every year to replace some of the more worn out ones and ensure they have enough for cooler weather.
In the next week or so, I will be stopping into the local thrift stores to get even more items as back ups.
I need to review their supply lists and start looking for sales on the items needed.
My 8 year old had a birthday just over a week ago, so she already received a new backpack as a gift. My son’s birthday is before school starts, so he’ll like receive a new backpack and pair of shoes as part of his gift as well. I’m partial to giving gifts of needed items, with a few other fun gifts. It helps to keep costs reasonable.
Is anyone else gearing up for back to school?

Sadly I'm making plans for when summer is over and it really has only gotten started.

@Morethanamom We had a long cold wet spring that felt more like the tail end of winter. Not sure anything is going to ripen out of the garden at all this year.

We hardly had a spring here. It went from cold and raining to hot and dry super quickly. But now that it’s here it is going quite quickly.

@koopharper farmers around here have the same problem. Crops didn’t get in the ground on time and we went from sipping wet to dry. Guess that means produce prices are going to go through the roof

I'm sending college/university students back in the middle of August. For the first time in over 20 years I will have no classes to teach at home.

@Morethanamom no one's actually moving out and technically no one is starting this year; the youngest was a dual enrollment last year.

Home schooling? Amazing! I know it’s a great option for some people, I just don’t think I could handle it. Hopefully everything falls into place

@Morethanamom Anyone can handle it-trust me! =) I have seen many moms that think they couldn't handle it but they do an amazing job.
I hope their school year goes very well!!
