In that little island in the Caribbean sea was born Reggae music and Dub, among other music styles. Reggae and Dub have a big influence in the popular music of today. The way the reggae producers and engineers recorded and mixed the songs, making instrumental versions and the application of electronic effects such as reverb, echoes, delays into the tracks. It all set the foundation of electronic music. Reggae music with a Latin flavor, so we can describe Reggaeton. This genre of music is so popular in Latin America where you can hear it all over the place. A little island with a big influence in the music today

I once saw Black Uhuru (or is it blue?) in concert. It was been such a while that I cannot remember the band's proper name.

Yes, Black Uhuru is the right name. Uhuru means "freedom" in Swahili

I find it very interesting to see this type of publications that recognize the roots of music today, as it seems to be ignored by the vast majority, nice!

Yes man, Bob Marley was the first ambassador world wide... He opened the door for other artist from Jamaica to reach the world stage.
