You are looking at an image of the Temple of Hercules. This temple when whole was larger than any temple in Rome. It is believe that this temple was never finished because of them finding no other remans belonging to the structure. The most impressive part of this ruin is what is believed to be a stature piece of Hercules hand. Most pictures taken make the hand look larger than it really is. The Temple of Hercules was meant to become a citadel but is believed to have never been completed because the rest of materials were used to complete a Byzantine Church nearby. It is a part of a grouping of religious building located on one of the 7 hills in Amman in Jordan. This historical grouping is one of the most awe inspiring setting in the country. This is my pick of places to visit when in Jordan you will never forget it.

So do I. I love history and often imagine how it was to be living way back when.

I would have loved to have seen that. I had to pass on a side trip to Jordan when we went to Egypt, thanks to my having to be back in school. I always said that teaching interfered with my life.
