I always have respect for people who get back on their feet after every setback they face in life. This friend got pregnant before she could get her college diploma to the utter disappointment of her uncle who supported her financially, married the guy because of true love despite her family’s protest, got a second baby, juggled the life of a working mom because husband was a lazy SOB, got cheated on because again he’s a SOB, became a single mom, went back to school, passed her nursing license exam and now she’s working in the UK. Reminiscing over FaceTime, she said people looked down on her because of her bad choices in life. That she wouldn’t amount to anything. They tried to bury her with cruel words, they didn’t know she was a seed.

like a phoenix, one must rise.
yer friend proved though that she could rise 'bove 't all. that hubs 'twas prolly abusive 's well, so her'n those young'uns 've most likely been to hades'n back. i've known many who've been kicked down 'n chose to climb'p 'n make a great life fer 'emselves despite the odds. then, sadly, there'd be others who've not that inner strength'n jest wallow'n the hand they feel life dealt 'em.
a big kudo's to yer friend!

These people made that destruction into inspiration and show the world that life is fair.

what a lovely way of putting that. My oldest daughter and youngest son have dropped so many painful words on me I wouldn't know where to begin. Family can cut us the deepest with words. My mom also did it to me many times.

The rule of life when you get knocked down is to get back on your feet and keep moving forward.

I don't see anything remotely bad about it. There are people worse off than her I'm sure; like sc-umbags walking freely on the surface of the earth and they weren't even judged. Like, so what? Everyone has baggage of their own.

@sol_cee If we listen to others hearsay too much, we won't be happy.

The world is full of people who judge without knowing, maybe it was her destiny and now she will come out again to fulfill her dreams.
