Monday was Don Henley’s 72nd birthday. I decided the way to celebrate is to do something similar to what I did last year: celebrate guest vocals. I did that with Linda Ronstadt. Now it’s Henley’s turn.
In my opinion, Don Henley has the best voice in rock and roll. Given all the backing vocals he’s provided over the years it’s not surprising that others hold a similar opinion.
So I’m going to list some of my favorite songs that featured Henley as a backing vocalist. There’s probably only one surprise on this list (and it’s on the list because it is such a surprise). I hope you enjoy it.
This won’t be on the list because this was more of a “duet” than a “backing vocals” job:
