I'm in a pickle right now. I got accepted for this job north (the area I want to move ) issue I cant find a place right now I can afford. So I'll be driving back and forth which in 3 months clock 12,000 km on my car. The other thing is a lady who use to be a customer at my work offered me a job at her gas station. Now she kept mentioning covering matt leave for a girl (so my view is in a year she will come back). She offered 40 hours a week for mon to fri so I can still do my weekend job (but if it's just for a year).

I'd choose the second option.

The consensus seems to be (and I agree) take the second one. Think of all the wear and tear on the car alone, not to mention yourself all that driving will incur. And if she's going to train you on ordering etc. that'll give you something more to put on your resume.

I went to talk to her and I'll be making stating $17 then raise to $18 after 3 months. She also said she'd most likely keep me on. The guy working there I doubt he will be around long.

You are guessing that the other person will come back. If you do a good enough job your boss might not even want the other person back if they return. On the other hand, if you think the other job is the better choice, make the move. Keep looking for a place to live, there might even be people at the new job that can help you with that.

I've looked at a few houses and they all fall through after it's been accepted. Apartments are one waitlist until November or December which is my issue. I'll be going today to talk to the second option and see if it's just for a year or for good. She wants me to train on ordering etc. She has offered me a job before (25 hours and I declined as it's not enough). She offered min to fri 40 hours. But before she said it was for mat leave girls leaving start in november then she called me tuesday stating she wants me now

@ricki_911 Good luck, be thankful you actually have some choices. Many do not have any.

@cperry2 I've never had people have this type of issue. They usually glide into jobs and handed more money.

Take the forty hour a week job where you will not have to move.
