Looking for what I thought was something simple.

I bought a Canon Elph 115 digital camera to take pictures of stuff that I have in my booth space. I also bought the recharger for the camera battery. It didn't come with the power cord, but it didn't. Stupid me, I thought it would come with the cord.
Since I received the charger, with a foreign charging cord, I have been looking for the American power cord...you would think it would be easy to find. NO WAY!!! I have searched and searched and haven't found it. I've even checked the thrift shops No luck. I don't need the charger unit, just the cord. So, I'm going to try to create my own. The worst thing I can do is fry one of the chargers, I do have one in reserve. It's just an annoyance that people force you to buy a whole bunch of stuff you don't need just to get you one part you do need. Or in the case of the Canon Elph cameras, you can buy the camera but you have to buy the charger seperate...in pieces.
Have any of you had the same problem?
OOPS, Here comes the "Boss" to check and see if I'm working (LOL) to see a picture of the boss check out my discussion about "Finally, a picture of the TRUE boss of Beary Elite Bears on his coffee break". He decided that I was working after all and kicked back for his after breakfast nap.

That is very weird, since the Canon Elph 115 is only called that in the US. In Europe it goes by a different name. It's incomprehensible that the charger supplied with it has the wrong power cord. I would suggest that the safest solution would be to buy an adaptor to convert from American to [whatever the standard is that they supplied]. They are usually called 'travel adaptors' and, if you can't find the right one locally, I'm sure you'd find one on Amazon. It will, of course, be aimed at people wanting to travel to America and not at Americans wanting to travel abroad. The charger itself is probably rated to accept an input of anything between 110 and 240 volts (the output will always be the right voltage to charge the battery).

I was going to order one from China except that they're set up for charging in an RV. I don't want to chance it. Why spend the money on their stuff when I have the things here to build my own?
I had lucked out and bought a Nikon digital camera and it works like a dream but finding the cards for it is a bit tough (right now finding the camera is even harder. My storage room looks like an earthquake hit it!

When we go overseas we have to take a bundle of adaptors with us as nothing seems to fit otherwise.
