I know there is a law already protecting them from discrimination. Some establishment has been ordered to have facilities like a ramp for those in wheelchair. Some establishment also has had made a special lane for PWD and the SC(Senior Citizen) so that they will be prioritised by any establishment. There is also certain discounts they can avail provided they have proper ID that they have disability when buying meds and some items. That is what I know of some privileges they can avail as PWD.

Here some people with disabilities get money every month. That way people who can't work are able to pay rent and buy food, but it is very different to get approved for this kind of help and many applications are rejected.

In the United States it is up to each state to administer services to the disabled with the exception of social security which is way below the standard of living.
So needless to say based on which state the person lives in it can range from wonderful to a shame.
