Tuesday 23rd July saw my twice postponed mandatory welfare hearing finally take place at short notice. My advisor insists I badger employers turning me down for work as to why they rejected me, and I sensed intent to tighten the thumbscrews on me here. My next appointment was set for Monday 5th August, (if they don’t change it again). After my appointment I got some shopping in and used the library. Wednesday 24th – A quick visit to my doctors and the chemist to get more of my blood pressure control medication, as my supplies were running low. Thursday 25th – An important voluntary work day, our first meeting of the film festival group I support. We are planning our 13th 1 In 4 movie festival for March next year, and we went over the timetable of events and selected some films to review for potentially screening. Friday 26th – A visit to the community centre to job search and print out directions to a house I am visiting tomorrow for a party. Saturday 27th A full day out today, visiting friends in St Helens, Merseyside, for a post-wedding reception. My friends actually got married without telling family or friends, months ago and today they threw a party at their house to allow u all to celebrate with them. As I haven’t been to St Helens (a town best known for its double-glazing glass windows factory and the transport museum) I set out early to explore the town and get lots of photos before the party. There was light rain throughout the day but never heavy enough to spoil anything. I met lots of friends I haven’t seen in years which was great, and the buffet and booze was very good. I caught a train home about 8pm. Sunday 28th – Recovered from Saturday, edited and listed my photos and got a delivery of a new CD-ROM player for my computer on which I watched a few movies later in the day (one will be reviewed later). Monday 29th July 2019 – I am out tomorrow, to Blackpool, an expenses paid treat from the university for the volunteering team, so I spent today getting ready for that. Arthur Chappell

@TiarasOceanView no problem, time often gets in the way of our activities here. The welfare people are just being mean. They know the companies don't hire someone because someone better qualified for the job came along and with so many unemployed to choose from they can be very selective

I am amazed at the amount of things you do, you have a lot of vitality, that is a sign that despite your health problems, you feel more active than many people who are technically healthy, that is a good sign!

@amadeo some of the old commercial vehicles on display at the transport museum in St Helens, Merseyside. I didn't actually go in, but as the doors were open, I was able to get some photos from the entrance area.

I'm glad that the organisations that use you as volunteers seem to look after you quite well.

'Badger employers?' Would they even respond? A waste of time and no good for your blood pressure.
