I have one of those sister in laws that like to comment in such way where she is like insulting you. I posted this pictures yesterday in FB and said I was sharping pencils to save money because if coast more to get them already sharpers. I spend $1.19/box so I had two sets to do. I have to buy 2 more later.
She comments saying it’s not worth her time to do that because it only costs her $70. Oh, ah woopie do! I have two kids going to school and it coast $110 plus they be getting the same color plastic folder again and again every year when I can simply reuse the same plastic color flooded they don’t change from test to add they just add one new color folder ever hear. That’s 50 cent only. I’m saving more by buying it myself then Constantly rebuy the same things over and over again.
My husband rolled his eyes at her remark.

Sounds like she can afford it to pay for others to sharpen her pencils while you have to watch what you spend.

Her money she can do as she wants with it. The same with us we can choice what we want to do to not do. My husband and K talk about it every year and after we look at the prices we always determine it’s more affordable doing to ourselves then letting the school pick what the kids need.

Never mind her. You are doing great with saving money and the environment for reusing some stuff.

Though that is a lot of pencils, I agree with you that saving the money sharpening them yourself over the cost of buying sharpened pencils is worth the effort. Also, those pre-sharpened pencils don't stay sharp as long and wind up needing a new sharpening almost immediately after one starts using them.

The kids each need 48 it’s a collective for the whole great so if each kid brings in that much they have enough to last the year unless some get lost and stuff.

@ShyBear88 I do the same in my class. Each student brings in at least 2 dozen pencils and they all go into a box. When a student needs a new pencil, they bring me the stub of the old one. Otherwise, they'd use them all up in no time flat.

I sister in law needs to buzz off she is not paying your bills i guess she has no kids to raise as a parent you have to pinch pennies wherever you can to raise your kids and if you are single parent then that is one incomes but if you a married then you are blessed with 2 incomes.Your sister in law needs to keep her mouth shut as they say if you do not have anything good to say do not say anything at all. If she is not giving you any money towards raising your kids then she needs not too say anything at all.

My sister in law has 3 just like me and my husband do it’s just she has one in school. Her younger two are going to school back to back like my older two. They also live n a different county in a different school system. So her $70 to my $110 will add up when she has all 3 in school.
Not everyone married has 2 incomes. We do not have 2 incomes that’s isn’t something you should assume about all married people with children.
You are right the way I choice to spend my family money is my choice just like it’s hers for her own.
