My Amazon saga continues...

Recently I wrote about finally joining Amazon Prime. I really like the Prime Wardrobe where you can try several things before deciding to buy them. I received the three pairs of shoes, but unfortunately none of them fit comfortably. One pair I almost bought, but after walking around in the house, they started to hurt. I have really strange feet. So, I let Amazon know I was returning them, pleased that a free return label had been enclosed so all I have to do is send the box back by UPS. We have a UPS drop box in town, but unless I take it to a UPS store about an hour away, I won't have a receipt to prove I mailed it. So....I'll probably ask my son to take it for me when he and the boys come for dinner tomorrow since he lives in the town with the UPS store. Okay, a relatively minor issue with Amazon. A while back I found a brand of gluten free crackers on Amazon that are hard to find in the stores around here. Tried to order them and was not allowed to even buy them unless I was a member of Prime. That ticked me off. But after I decided to try Prime for a month with a free trial, I thought, "Well, now that I'm a member, I can order those crackers and also get free shipping." Went on the site, picked out the crackers only to find out that I could only buy them if I spend $35. I don't want nine boxes of crackers! First they tell me I can't even order them, then when I join, they tell me I have to spend $35! Plus, it didn't include free shipping! It is such a rip off. I went to Walmart online, found them there and will have them shipped for free to our local Walmart to pick up. Nothing good ever comes from a company that gets too big and too powerful. It won't be long before the only places left to shop will be Amazon, Walmart, Ebay, and McDonalds. Heaven help us all.

I never fell for that Prime program because I don't think I order often enough for it to be of any benefit. Are you sure there isn't a UPS drop location in a store in your town? We don't even have drop boxes. I looked up locations online and there are two convenience stores in our town that take UPS.

@1creekgirl Just checked with my husband, he did not get a receipt when he took a parcel to the convenience store location.

I love Amazon Prime. Free 2 day shipping on almost everything, great prices, and access to the movies and TV shows.

I'm glad it works well for you. I'll give it a try a while longer, but if the movies don't work out, we have DIRECTV and the movie channels, Netflix, Vudu, and Red Box. I checked out the music and the first well known song I searched for wasn't available unless I pay more for Premium. I might as well keep paying for Spotify which we love. So, for us, the verdict is still out.

@1creekgirl I order a lot from Amazon so the free shipping and 2 day delivery alone makes it worth it. I just ordered supplies for work from there this afternoon.

Glad you were able to find what you need for a reasonable price. I had a very frustrating experience with walmart online and ended up deleting my account

I've had a few issues at times, but over all I like it better than Amazon.

99% of what I order from Amazon Prime is shipped free. Maybe because it was a small-ticket item they couldn't ship it for free? I'm sorry you had that disappointment and glad that you were able to get them from Walmart. I order more from Walmart online for shipment that I do Amazon anymore.

I think I'll probably use Walmart more than Amazon.

This is why I do not like Amazon Prime. They tell you how and what you can buy in a nutshell. I moved on. But I did not know about being able to return shoes. They have gotten too big for their britches it seems. A shame.

They have some good ideas, but it all comes down to limiting our choices and makig them rich.

I don't do much shopping. I'm pretty sure MrsJ would get annoyed with me if I started ordering things off of Amazon.
