Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is warm and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. I am at the beach with family and friends. It is a west wind but so far no greenhead flies. We brought subs to have for lunch. What’s everyone else up to today?

Sounds like a great way to wrap up the weekend. What is a green head fly? Is that another name for sandfly?

They are exactly what they sound like--flies with green heads that bite. The good thing is that they are slow so you can usually smack them and kill them. Problem is when there is a west wind they come out of the dunes and they can make life at the beach miserable even if you have bug spray.
