Sometimes your best friend is a stranger

Recently I had been dealing with some issues, I’m sad to say that they were beyond even my comprehension level. I was beyond help, my brain shut down, I could not think straight, I became obsessed with this situation. Then a very close friend suggested I go to a group with her. I must admit I was hesitant at first, but I went with her to appease her. We walked into a room filled with women, just like me dealing with the same issue I was. They welcomed me with open arms, warm smiles, friendly hugs, coffee and good conversation. I have been going to this group for a couple months now. And never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that a group of complete strangers would have become my best friends. I could not be happier

This is true. And at most they are unexpected.

I am happy that this worked out that way. It is great that you have found a group that understands and welcomes you with open arms and coffee.

It has been long been proven that strangers are often the best listeners.

That is wonderful to hear! All too often when we have issues beyond our comprehension level we are left on our own to deal with them. I know I am dealing with that right now after my being hospitalized last week. To have a group of women welcome you with open arms, warm smiles, friendly hugs, coffee and good conversation and above all help is worth all the money in the world. It has given you people who you can converse with on an equal level and get ideas on how to deal with your issues and also give you wonderful friends. It also shows you how wonderful a group of strangers can be if you give them the opportunity to prove themselves to you. Too often people will shut out a group of strangers because they are simply strangers and they don't give the people a chance to prove themselves or show what they are capable of doing if given the chance. I am so thrilled for you being able to find the help and friendship you so needed at a difficult time. Hugs to you and your close friend for going to the group session...
