Do you think there is a link to mental illness and demonic influences??

There was a book I read called "Something Wicked" by Debi Chestnut (paranormal expert), and she claims that demons/demonic spirits have a heavy influence on our emotions. I believe, after reading this book, that there is a significant chance that mental illness and demonic beings are linked together. I was hoping to get others thoughts on this. Please read this book to get a better understanding of why I would use this book as a reference point. *Just another note to add, if you ever watch any criminal survivor shows and you have a witness who claims that the person doing the horrific things, many times say, it seems like the person was possessed or not themselves. Even the look in their eyes seemed evil and not a human being. What do you think??
