There's something that's completely addictive about television series that can be watched in bulk. Until a few years ago (2013 to be exact) most people would have had no clue wht it meant. Thanks to stream services for popular television channels like HBO, Showtime and AMC you can watch to your hearts content any time of the day or night.
Netflix is my go-to remedy for insomnia these days. Even though it might not help me fll asleep, it does give me something to do in the 'insane hours'. I had Nurse Jackie on my list for a long time, after binge watching about twenty horror movies I needed something a little lighter.
Nurse Jackie is a combination of a comedy and drama but the biting wit is what sucks you in. Jackie tries to balance being a nurse, having a family and a part time lover. Oh and the icing on the cake is that she slowly becomes addicted to prescription pills. Another twist is the person she's having an affair with works at the hospital (All Saints) and is one of the pharmacists. See where the addiction comes into play?
I'm in the middle of the third season and its only gotten better with each episode. I do admit to watching the clips of the last episode as well as interviews qwith cast members about the ending of the series. THere's been chatter about them reviving (no pun) the series. It would be nice to know if that last scene was a dream or drug induced exit.
Best episode compilation: (first three seasons)
