For those who read / answered my previous post....

I just wanted to do this post as I feel I didn't really explain myself well in my previous one. I know that we shouldn't really worry what others think about us but I'm someone who doesn't like being misunderstood or having people have the wrong impression of me. No one has said anything nasty to me or anything but I feel like I want to make double sure that no one has taken me the wrong way. In my last post I asked you guys what you thought about those who bragged too much. I also explained that I always sit back and wonder why people do what they do and say what they say and that bragging eventually becomes annoying to me. But I didn't mean bragging as in people who spoke about their successes or achievements in their lives or speaking about something that made them happy ( job, family life, fitness, health, grades in school improving, accomplishing things etc ) I didn't mean I couldn't tolerate that sort of bragging. Actually I don't even call that bragging. I call that someone sharing their happiness with others. I can't tell you the amount of times I've cried happy tears for other people. Even in public which was embarrassing but I am easily happy when others are improving or have positive news. The type of bragging I was referring to was the egotistical kind of bragging. The kind of bragging where someone will speak so highly of themselves while putting others down in the process. Kinda like a narcissistic type of bragging. I will give you real examples of what I mean. This is a mixture of my ex boyfriend and people I have seen here on MyLot. "I was the best looking guy at the party." "I am much smarter than everyone in my class." "Everyone is jealous of me." "I write the best stories." "I write better than anyone here on MyLot." "I am seriously model material." "Every guy wants the girl I am with." "I am much better than you cause you're a piece of sh*t." That's the type of bragging I was talking about that I can't tolerate because it's selfish and hurtful. I understand why people can be this way but there are also others who are literally selfish and so egotistical who enjoy putting others down. I do hope no one took me the wrong way and I hope this post explained more of what I meant.

I admit I wasn't sure what exactly you referred to on the original post. That's why I laid my boasting out for you. But I did not take anything you said in that post (or above) that was negative or looked bad on you. Personally, I don't mind much what people think of me. It's nice when they think nicely of me, but everyone has their own personality, and there will be many that just don't work well in my world. BTW, what you describe as the kind of braggart you don't like, is a perfect description of the current president of the US. (I am not the only one who feels that way.) Take care.

@cperry2 Thank you for not seeing me as negative or anything. Your comment was one of the ones that made me wonder if I should have explained myself better because when you were speaking about your family, I thought "crap no no I love that sort of talk." And worried if you thought I wouldn't care to hear about all that. So yeah I got worried but glad that it didn't come across as nasty to you and hopefully not to others and hopefully through this post I made myself more clearer. LOL he who shall not be named did cross my mind a bit when talking about this topic. Thank you Clint. You too!

@CookieMonster46 Thank you. I feel good doing this post. I have people who say I shouldn't care what others think but that's just not me. If someone doesn't like me for who I am then fine but I wouldn't want to be disliked for something I'm not or from some misunderstanding.

Some people are not capable of taking critiques, so instead of taking the critique processing it and applying it to make themselves better they instead go out to attack the person, ATTACKING and Critiquing are much different things, sadly some do not get that concept they take any feedback that is not 100% possitive as an attack which isn't the case.

I did. I did. I mean I read and answered the previous post so I am eligible. I understand thee last post and this one. However, I do not understand the people who didn't understand the posts. Psss.. Could it be coz they have been the braggers or could it be that some just like to stir things up for the heck of it or could it be coz someone's middle name is "Oh! I am so offended." Or (which is unlikely I think) could it be the language barrier?

@Daljinder haha I knew you'd get me since you understand how my heart and mind works. You often like to get nice and cosy in my head. I'm not really sure either. There were just a few responses that gave me that vibe that I was being misunderstood. Could also be that my whole post wasn't read as I can tell quite a lot of people do that here. Especially one for sure who doesn't really read the whole post.

I think there is a clear demarcation between bragging and talking about achievements with pride and joy. I can not withstand braggers. I often feel that there is an underlying insecurity in people that makes them brag. Or something missing in them. They use bragging as a mask to hide what is actually missing in their life.

No way could I take it that way. I was just thinking of a natural show off whose head is filled with fantasies all day long it seems. He was on that Big Brother VIP program boasting away that he knew such and such about famous people. There were two ordinary guys sitting there trying to listen to him and the looks on their face made me crease up with laughing and I thought to myself yeah not in a whole lifetime could you get to do what you say you have already done just no way. Nonetheless he was funny to listen to as he was so boring to listen to. In the end I thought yeah and I am the Fairy Godmother too. Glad that your Dad is much better now.

I did understand what you meant by "bragging" in your previous post but haven't read what others commented and they probably misunderstood you. When I have achievements I share it and no I don't consider it bragging at all. But when someone is ego tripping, I sometimes would want to put that person down by slapping it to his or her face, that hey I'm someone better than you.

@toniganzon I am glad you understood what you meant. No one was being mean to me or anything but I think some people were under the impression that I meant I didn't care to hear about people who brag about things that have made them happy. Whereas I actually meant I don't like when people brag about how good they are and believe they are better than everyone else. lol fair enough but yeah people who act and think they are better than everyone else just bothers me.

I never brag about myself if someone asks me if I can do something I answer truthfully and if I can do the thing they are suggesting then I just tell them my method of doing it but I never say I do it better than anyone else.

@RasmaSandra That is sweet of you. I don't brag either but when I have accomplished something I do share it with family and close friends and people who just care as I know they will be cheering with me. But I have never in my life said "I am better than you" in regards to anything. It's just mean.

My wife and I arrived here on August 1 and will be staying for a few months. It's winter time though so we're stuck in the house to help keep an eye on our daughter's baby boy.
