A small West Australian community working together for mutual benefit

We drove through the small town of Coorow today and thought you might like their entry statement. It is a small but very close-knit community. Some years ago they managed to purchase a ‘community farm’. It is run with volunteer labour and mostly businesses donate seed and fertiliser to grow crops. Profit from crops and livestock go back into the community.
The group has already re-established the road-house and it has been sold as a going concern to a local couple. Now they have bought the hotel and are renovating it back to its former glory. I thought this was a marvellous way of helping themselves.

Coming closer together to help each other out is always the best policy and the best formula.

love the sign, but love what they've been doin' e'en more :) warms the heart when folks join forces 'n rebuild that which's so much to offer. 'tis a shame that doesn't occur more oft 'cross the globe. those close-knit communities bein' the backbones 'f all.

Great they are saving the old hotel. They are turning themselves into a tourist destination.
