Jerrold Nadler, a congressman from New York and chairman of the House Judiciary committee, is going forward with articles of impeachment against Trump.
For those of you who are not familiar with the system, impeachment does not mean that Trump is no longer president. When a president is impeached, the case goes to the Senate. If 2/3rds of the Senate vote to convict, then the president is out and the vice-president (Pence) becomes president. Two presidents have been impeached, neither was convicted.
Trump will not be impeached, however. The majority of the House must vote for impeachment. There are 435 so a majority means 218. Only 121 Democrats and 1 independent favor impeachment. Nadler doesn't have the votes.
This whole thing is nothing more than grandstanding. It's a waste of time and money and, in the meantime, Congress isn't doing its job.

I saw a clip from an interview on CNN where he said that he was certain that the investigation will lead to filing articles of impeachment. Let's be honest, Trump could sell everything he owns and give the money to the poor and Nadler would complain that the money was a bit wrinkled. He is guided by hatred.

It is the only way for Democrats to beat the president. They know they could not get rid of him in 2020 presidential election.

Nadler is among the obsessed grandstanding for publicity. His every waking moment is consumed by Trump while his district suffers from crime and other issues.
