What Are Your Thoughts On This

Polls say Democratic Socialism is not that scary. People in general actually like the hybrid economy of capitalism and socialism. Then watch news reports from corporate media, getting bashed. Bernie never gets any love, but Warren sounds strong even though her ideas are pretty much the same. She just went smart politically. I love capitalism. Now Republicans on war path and calling out every other word of their mouth. I do not think this country is brave enough yet. Hopefully they will prove me wrong. I do know one thing that Republicans love more than capitalism and that seems to be fascism. I see it everyday and please bring it if you want to challenge me. This article, blog, not a mainstream news source, so cannot get sources to back this claim but sounds about right from what I seen. Corporate America of the media not going to go there. They all about this, just want Trump to leave the racism out of it. Yep, everyday I see Republicans making us less free. Making us more poor too. Hate Democrats all you want but they not even exploiting you this bad.
Public solidarity and mutual aid provide the best antidote to this form of state repression.

@crossbones27 I work at home and for the most part, ignore politics. I really do not understand most of the stuff that goes on.

@RasmaSandra Fair enough but if people really want a better life they need to pay attention to this stuff. You do not have to watch all the time. Just get glimpses so you know what is going on.That way you do not go crazy. I never really thought about it till today. These fools not playing politics with Democrats and Republicans anymore, they going straight to the people and saying we going to do a bunch of nasty dirty shady stuff to turn you off so you do not want to keep up. I mean I seen it at work places all the time but now elected officials doing to the very own people they represent. How sad is that?

It is just sickening if people would take the time and just look at the situation.

I am afraid that old saying will become a reality "Be careful what you wish for." Socialism in America will be our worst time in our history's nation.

Listen again, its not pure socialism, this is what they tell you to get you scared. Things like Wall Street are not going to change other than corruption hopefully. Socialism is for what makes this country go. Healthcare education and getting people jobs so they can make all the money they want even enough to buy Trump Tower. Come on that is a good one and when you explain it to people like that, they go damn, that does make sense. Democratic socialism for what need to survive, capitalism to make us thrive.

@teamfreak16 My buddy , did not even see you there buddy, I try after a point not looking at people's name, so I do not hold a bias. It does not work very well other than I think the way I think. I did not even see it was you. Glad you stopped by and Mylot misses you. Stop even if it is just to say Chiefs suck. I get you only have a phone so hard to make decent posts, but something is better than nothing. My favorite line I came up with in National Guard was better late than never, you know Marines do not play that, but saved me so many times in National Guard.

Giving aid is not socialism. The government plays a key role in stimulating the private sector, providing loans, and doing business with private companies and businesses. None of this is socialism.

@db20747It is socialism but its smart socialism. Many economic platforms sound good until jerk wads run the show and ruin it for everyone. I am sure most would prefer capitalism, but they know not everyone is included in that economic model, and you need socialism to some small degree to keep them motivated and working. Plus, capitalist not very fair, and need socialism to counter their unfairness.

@crossbones27 these are safety nets, we agree to, but not socialism. Socialism is when government owns and runs big ticket items like water or major businesses. Mostly the private sector runs mostly all of the businesses.

@db20747 You talking overall but semantics, mean who cares, what ever works I do not care what you call it. That's the problem with this world is they get scared of words, but its actions you should be scared of or like.

The fascists are the democrats, sir. I mean think about it. What IS fascism? Authoritarianism essentially. It's the dems who want to ban plastic straws, sugary drinks, and fossil fuel. It's the democrats who want to tell you what you can own and what you can't own, what you are entitled to and what you are not entitled to. They want to force businesses to pay wages falsely that the businesses can't pay. They are the ones who want to tell you what you can eat and what you can't eat. As for socialism. We ALL know that never works. Never has. Neve will. Look back to the former Soviet Union, look at Venezuela and Cuba, look at North Korea. None of these people are prospering. None of them. As for some hybrid of capitalism and socialism such as China has...it ain't working either. They have to manipulate their currency, and people are still living in huts in many places. Capitalism is not perfect. But then nothing is. But in no other form of economy does someone have as much opportunity to pursue their goals and dreams and get rich than in a capitalist society. Yes. You will still have poor people. But really, the vast majority of the poor are those who simply do not, for whatever reason, PARTICIPATE in the economy in which they are a part. Getting ahead takes effort. It takes commitment. It takes having personal worth. If I don't like my situation I am not forced to stay in it. Because of capitalism I have the ability and opportunity to become something more. There are rags to riches stories that abound. These are people who instead of waiting for a handout took the time and effort to figure out how to get what they wanted, and put in the hard work to get there. Even when it comes to people who say they want to start a business, but also say "but I can't because I am not rich." I say to those people, you don't understand how business works then. I don't need to HAVE money to start a business. I need an idea that will attract people who DO have money to INVEST I my business. There are many people who have no interest in running a coffee shop, for example, BUT do have money to INVEST in someone who does. As for this notion that Trump is a racist...that's just plain flat out ridiculous.

I go by what I see homie. If that is the case, maybe you should tell your party to better represent that instead of sounding like such hateful greedy fools. Democrats are weak but they do not come by to try to steal your home from underneath you. Republicans straight say that is my crap. Really, you did not work for this, I did, but you going take it anyway because you a bully that needs to be punched in the face. Not to mention the fact they never want to pay a honest days work with a fair wage so no one can afford anything in first place. Your party is the problem and the definition of fascism. I hate to put it so bluntly but tired of sugar coating things because it offends people. Called tough love.

@crossbones27 I really don't know what world you are living in, but we have record unemployment across all groups. We have massive job growth, employee shortages, and wages are on the rise...again across all demographics. We have had record numbers of high paying wage jobs like manufacturing returning to the U.S., with several foreign companies adding to their factories and adding jobs, or setting up shop here since the tax bill was passed. And as for a fair wage, it is a wage that a company can afford to pay. Many people who pull a number out of their wazoo cannot understand or read a balance sheet, so they have no idea what the impact of even a dollar an hour raise has on a company. Even Bernie Sanders sort of proved the point that you cannot artificially increase wages without laying people off. Who does that help? Higher wages, fewer jobs, more poor and more unemployed. How does this make sense? As for no one being able to afford anything, how do you explain GDP growth and consumer confidence numbers or the increase in retail sales figures? It means MORE people have MORE money and are SPENDING more money because they HAVE more money. Even when you look at the stats on disposable spending, disposable spending is UP. That means more people are spending money on things they do not need like vacations, upgrading cars, improving their houses, etc. We have also seen a DECREASE in consumer debt. That means with the extra money this economy is providing, thanks to republicans, more people are taking SOME of this extra money they have to PAY DOWN DEBT. Something people generally do not do when they don't have money to do it. I really AM scratching my head. You say you go by what you see. Are you walking with a blind man stick? If you are not succeeding in this economy it's not the republicans. It's you. Just being honest.
