Hi, hope everyone is doing well today! It's time for another update on my #20Resolutions. For new readers who don't know what's going on: I made a list of 20 goals to accomplish by 2020. That was at the end of March, giving me only nine months to get them finished. Now that I'm about halfway through, you would think I've got them about halfway done. Ummmm, well, it's a mixed bag, really.
Those of you have been following along know that I have already eliminated three goals from the list – two successfully (achieving level 20 in Spanish and in French on the language-learning website Duolingo) and one unsuccessfully (due to knee problems and subsequent surgery, I was unable to keep up walking 20 miles a week). So, of the remaining 17 goals, this is where I stood last time:
1. 5 books read
2. 0 weight lost
3. 9 items culled from my wardrobe
4. 6 sketchbook drawings
7. 4 blog posts written
8. 1 art project completed
9. 4 scarves knitted
10. 8 letters written
11. 9 web articles written
12. 2 Etsy listings made
13. 0 eBay listings made
14. 8 charitable contributions made
15. 4 items removed from garage
17. 10 new friends made
18. 10 new places visited
19. 2 poems written
20. 4 beautiful photos taken
So, what kind of progress can I boast? First, the bad news – in eight entire categories, I made no progress whatsoever. Wardrobe items, blog posts, Etsy listings, garage items, poems, and pictures remain at their previous marks. Art projects are still at only one finished, although I can happily report that I have worked on several unfinished pieces, bringing them closer to completion. Embarrassingly, I still have one item on the list that remains at zero, after four months in; I've made no eBay listings, yet. I'm going to have to have some sort of blitz, clearly. Fortunately, that is the kind of thing that CAN be done in a blitz, so maybe all is not lost.
Speaking of lost, I did eliminate my one other category that had shown no progress by losing weight. One whole pound! Not very impressive, but it's a start. I also made some small progress in the books and sketches categories, with two new entries apiece, and three apiece in letters, web articles, and new places visited.
The largest strides were made in the categories of hats and scarves, charitable donations, and new friends made. I have finally learned how to knit hats, I have produced three, as well as two new scarves. I've made five additional donations, and a whopping nine new friends, bringing that total to 19. I don't want to get too cocky, but it looks like I will be able to shut that category down fairly soon.
The current tally:
1. 7 books read
2. 1 pounds lost
3. 9 items culled from my wardrobe
4. 8 sketchbook drawings
7. 4 blog posts written
8. 1 art project completed
9. 9 scarves knitted
10. 11 letters written
11. 12 web articles written
12. 2 Etsy listings made
13. 0 eBay listings made
14. 13 charitable contributions made
15. 4 items removed from garage
17. 19 new friends made
18. 13 new places visited
19. 2 poems written
20. 4 beautiful photos taken
It's nice when the list gets shorter! I promise to stick with it, and I appreciate you for hanging in there with me. Above image is the latest finished drawing in my sketchbook, a figure study of a strong man.

Well see, the time is going to pass, anyway. I'd like to have something to show for it. Look at all the stuff I've done in just four and a half months! I guarantee I wouldn't have gotten all that done if I hadn't set those goals.

If that's important to you than good for you @AliCanary as for me I'm living one day at a time so no need for goals.
