Saturday night dinner

I love going out to dinner Saturday night. I always look forward to it and get bummed when hubby tells me he doesn't want to go anywhere. Happened last night. I was actually craving for a gourmet burger and fries and thought we'd go have that somewhere. Hubby told me he wanted to eat at home. So that's what happened. While I didn't get my burger I still had a delicious dinner. We made sauteed kale, fried Chinese eggplant in Island Soyaki sauce from Trader Joe's, and rack of lamb fried in a cast iron skillet. And for dessert we had cherry filled pierogies and gourmet cheese. He had tea and I had goat milk kefir.

I don't think it was Master Chef worthy but it was delicious.

It was. Except that I bought avocado to eat with it and forgot all about it.

And good thing that I checked the receipt before leaving the store because the guy entered the wrong avocado code (they have two diff avocados) and I was charged $1.99 instead of $1.59.

I need to be more aware of this kind of thing in our house as well. I sometimes am selfish and forget that MAYBE the wife wants to do something I don't want to do. Marriage is a compromise, and sometimes I am guilty of forgetting that.

I think we are all guilty of that at times. And I agree with you on the "marriage is a compromise" thing. Sometimes you may not want to do something but you do it anyway because it will make the other person happy.

It was. Still, I wish we had gone out to eat. If we don't do that we got nothing else. It's pretty much always home home home.

You still enjoyed a feast but who did the dishes?

No one did the dishes. They are patiently waiting for me on the kitchen counter... And I am patiently avoiding them.
