To believe or not to believe that is the question

Most members here would know that India has scrapped Article 370 and sort of gobbled Kashmir. Honestly, I don't understand that article or its implications so please Indians, don't fight with me. All I can say is I am expecting serious reactions not only from locals but also our eternal rival Pakistan. News channels say everything is peaceful, but BBC has reported otherwise. How do you decide which channel to believe? Tomorrow and independence day are something I fear very much. Today was Bakri Id so who so ever wanted to create chaos must have held back till the festival was gone. I am praying everything will be peaceful.

I would believe my Indian media. And definitely being from defense background, I know my soliders very well. They don't indulge in atrocities. And India didn't gobble Kashmir. It just gave voice to people of Jammu and Ladakh who got ignored all these years. Kashmir had been an integral part and we didn't gobble it.

Well it was like the frog's way of eating. Tongue gets thrown out, and its there waiting for food and then retraced inside...linked so integral but unusual...for want of better terminology. I am sorry if it felt that way.
***This short video is best seen on a larger screen in 1080p HD video setting.*** I have a small garden pond in my backyard that has attracted some frogs. Th...

@arunima25 The link to Kashmir was only through tongue which is linked. Normally, we don't throw tongue out, instead push food in the mouth... this time we retracted the tongue sorta.. honestly I found it strange that we had to resort to such a measure... with the size of army we have. Nevertheless, what is done is done, and now we must let it go on till it is either successful, or failure. If it is successful move, nothing will happen. But if it is a failure, we can expect big problems inter and intra country.

For once I tend to agree with the PM of Pakistan. It is inadmissible to let countries gobble territories like this : what does Russia with Crimea, Israel with Palestine, and now India with Kashmir is unethical, and I hope that the UN will react. You already had two wars with Pakistan because of Kashmir, a third would probably help to solve overpopulation on this planet...

@skysnap It has always been a disputed territory between India and Pakistan. I read both sides, and I find Khan a lot more wise than Modi here.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigation Jump to search India–Pakistan conflict over the Kashmir region India claims the entire erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir based on an instrument of accession signed in 1947. Pakistan claim

Kashmir was always india's property and Pakistan had nothing to do with it.. especially when UN itself has declared pakistan as terrorism state that used Kashmiri islamics for this purpose. I think you were fed the Pakistani side of story it seems.

@topffer Nope.. the khan being wise is their media job... we have had years of media framing done against us.. if were to be doing any injustice US would have bombed us by now.. and so does UN.. none of them will intervene now because both of them know about the side of india which is not documented by your Wikipedia.. it was never disputed one especially if you read about the argument about who was the king of kashmir who decided to get into india.. and another argument of pandits being slaughtered who were native of that place... then again likes of you who wish war on india for reduction of population .. i hope more islamic moving to your nation do what they did to us.. Amen.

I fully agree with @topffer on this. You surely remember that the Gulf War started when Iraqi Army invaded and occupied Kuwait because they wanted to gobble the country.

But that was another nation! This was a princely state that aligned with India on paper.

@LadyDuck True. Something like Israel Palestine conflict. But leaving it in present state was not going to help us.

Generally i don't trust any media as they show for what they get money but while matters comes india pakistan then they show same things so it may true. I trust our PM narendra modi so even Pakistan do little misbehave then they will finish for sure. We have this time best PM of the world and will give answer. What he did in kashmir is totally true and why Pakistan has problem if we do change in our country rules. Pakistan is only country who support terrorisum. We should not have to worry as our defence is strong and our PM too.this time flag will waven there to as i still remember that our people were beaten for waving our own country fleg there.

Very complicated. My information about Israel and Palestinian is as reliable or unreliable as my information about Kashmir and India. :) All I can say is, we Hindus have been bad in the past, and they the Muslims there have retaliated equally ferociously. Now we are at an impasse... we need to resolve this. I am not sure knee jerk reactions are the right way.

Article 370 didnt make sense in the 21st century and it was a temporary one for a reason. What I don't agree with is the way it was scrapped and the reason given. J&K had better GDP than bimaru states. And terrorism still prevails after demonitisation. Black money and corruption still rampant. Besides i dont live in J&K. It didnt change my life even a tiny bit. People living there would know better. People detained, arrested and under communication lockdown can answer better.

Building up consensus was never a possibility. First thing - rehabilitate the Kashmiri Pandits. Next, remove infiltrators, then voting to determine the will of people. People need to decide whether they want to belong to India or be with Pak, or be independent. Being independent and taking help from India for protecting them like Bhutan will not do, because India has already poured enough on them. In so far as Bimaru states are concerned ..yes, they were managed rather badly by previous governments. Mayavati spent fortune on those elephants. Akhilesh Yadav on bungalows. Yogi Adityanath on sangam and yagna apart from statues. That is UP's fate. They select wrong government. Bihar is in grip of Maoists. Much of funds go to fight them. To that extent, certainly J&K is better. I don't know ...next week there will be Ganesh visarjan. Lots of folks will be vulnerable to attacks. I am a tad tense again.

BBC is cesspool of anti indian british and paki alliance. ... i mean they were the one who created"indias daughter".. "indias toilet crisis" type videos to defame india while allowing paki refugees and created slum in their own backyards... I am glad that modi did something which is not even possible by any other govt or person of stature.. there are going to be bomb blast and attacks soon.. but yeah we got kashmir and we won .. let's wait for the price we paid.. I am not even surprised at anti modi communist crowd attacking current situation.. especially those convert christians who mock everything done by hindus..

@skysnap Not at all. But if that makes you feel better I am good. I for one want Hindus to care for their own by discarding what is not there in scriptures fighting for such things focus on research and win over others like Parsis. The katua thing is vulgar... never thought Hindus could ever stoop down to that level. By the way even Jews undergo circumcision.
