How do you choose topics/discussions to read here in Mylot?

I'm wondering how members here find discussions/topic to read or respond to.
I'm still trying to get used to the the new Mylot site layout after being away for a while as the site looked completely different.
Do you search topics by their tags? or browsing through the items under the Explore menu?
As you can see, this is how the Mylot dashboard used to look like before.
You could see the top 10 topics that you have started, you have replied to, most recent top 10, and top 10 topics you friends started.
And it has all the categories where you can post your topics under.

I generally read the topic and if I feel that I have sufficient knowledge of the topic then I post.
I do consider my knowledge and liking of the topic first. If I feel like contributing to the discussion, then I do post my opinion without any hesitation.

I still kind of miss the old mylot structure. I try to use the search thingy, but most people don't add sensible tags and searching for words takes forever.
So I end up just scrolling down the recent posts and the posts of those I follow, looking for something to reply to

I scroll down the list in the various categories to see what catches my eye and answer the ones I find the most interesting.

@cyclopz I respond to discussions that are short and about which I can say something.
