Thinking about not going to the dentist.

I am dreading the appointment to the dentist. I think that he will insist on an implant and, of course, taking out the molar first.
I know myself and from that moment on, I will have excruciating pains.
My holiday starts at the begining of September. I want to be happy and relaxed. I don´t want to have to decide now whether to spend a lot of money in something that might not work.
As I am writing this post, I made my decision. I will call the dentist saying that I woke up with a cold. That is a lie, but I don´t care. See you around.

Took a lot of courage - 15 years - for me to finally get my wisdom teeth taken out.
I was so scared of getting my jaws accidentally unhinged from all the jarring they had to do trying to pull that tooth out.
Finally did it in December when I know I was gonna get a few days of break over the holidays. 3 teeth out after, I'm fine. Happy to finally get rid of it because it had become severely infected.
Lesson is: it's usually not as scary as we think

@MarshaMusselman I agree. But this is not a wisdom tooth.

Wisdom teeth are totally different than getting an implant.

Unless you are in pain and in need of immediate work, skip it.

I´m sure of that. And after my mother´s and your mother´s story of the implant gone wrong, I prefer to use my money elsewhere.

@marguicha My mother also had problems and she wasted plenty of money.

Is the molar having problems? Or maybe you have a few teeth missing and that's why he wants to do the implant? My dentist wants to do one for me too but at this time in my life I think that would be silly. And I agree that it might be worse than what I've lived with thus far. I have two teeth missing in one side and one upper and lower each on the other side.
I have at ridge of bones inside my mouth making it impossible for any kind of bridge so an implant is only option. But it costs more than I will ever spend. And I can eat just fine now.

Besides my 4 wisdom teeth (gone) I have just one missing molar, right besides the molar that is bothering me.

@marguicha well if that one molar is bothering you can't they just fill it rather than removing it?

@marguicha Good. Better wait or you will be traveling with a missing tooth.

I wouldn't worry about the dentist until after you enjoy your holiday in Sept. unless of course you are in pain.
