Would You Eat This Egg

Was starting to cook breakfast just now. Took an egg out of the carton, and there it was. A hole in the egg. The first thing I thought of was, it's alive! And yes, the expiration date on the carton was fine.
So the questions are, why is there a hole in the egg? And would you eat the egg?
I did not eat the egg. It went over the fence for the critters to feast on.
Photo is mine. Took it from the refrigerated carton just now.
Remember this scene from the old 1931 Frankenstein movie? It is only 25 seconds long. Made me laugh.

As it was a store bought egg no. I have ate them when I have gathered them myself. But then I knew how old they were.

@CarolDM I would have tossed it to. When I have had to buy eggs I pick each one of them up in the carton before putting it in my cart.

@CarolDM I understand that! I would have too if we had a fence, or a yard...

I will not take the risk of eating it, it may contain lots of salmonella as eggs is one of the most perishable.

I would definitely not eat it! It could easily be contaminated!

No, because something could be wrong with it.

Since we have chickens and their eggs, this is often the case here, but it is not terrible. Have the bird or the hen break the egg.

No, I think I would just toss it. Better safe than sick.
