Yes, when I was an infant my mother put me in hammock to sleep. As adult, we tie it under a tree and read a book or doing nothing until we get to sleep. It's very common in our place especially in the farm and countryside.

I don't remember sleeping in a hammock. I do remember being in one, reading in one, relaxing in one, and such, but not necessarily sleeping in one.

I have two kinds of hammocks...one very similar to the one in your photo, which is hanging in my backyard, and then a camping/backpacking hammock made of nylon that I use when I go on backpacking trips. I love taking naps in my backyard hammock, and when I camp/hike/backpack, I love sleeping in my backpacking hammock. In fact, I rarely ever take a tent with me anymore because it is so comfortable sleeping in the hammock!

@db20747 I have learned to balance very well in the hammocks (I guess it just comes with time and experience), and I have also learned how to stretch out in my camping hammock. I always wake up feeling so refreshed and well-rested when I sleep in my hammock. Much better than sleeping on the hard ground in a tent!
