AC Out

Nothin' like it being 100 degrees with a heat index of 110 and have your AC unit go out. Yuppers; nothing like trying to figure out if the AC guy is gonna let you pay at the beginning of next month OR say he's sorry; but nope. It's bad enough that us old folks hate the heat, let alone my kittie-kids who are wearing their fur coats. And trust me; electric fans don't exactly cut the mustard; especially when the electric company is doing black-outs to save on power. Fortunately the guy said he'd do it. It cost $194.00. Bless his heart. I can't wait for winter to hit because if the heat goes out, I can at least wear a coat and cuddle up with the 'kids'.

oh I know your pain. ours went out I think around the 9 th or 10 th. thought I was going to die. took 3 days for him to come fix it cause the slum lord we rent from did not want to pay even though he lives in a nice cool house. Glad you and your babies can be cool now.

I'm trying to remember as a kid how we made it when there was NO AC in houses or cars @bunnybon7 . I'm blaming it on old age.

The past 3 years I haven't had A/C and I was kinda ok but I figured it would be better to have my cooler fixed for this year so thankfully I have a cool home for now, the bill isn't too bad but I wouldn't mind if it were lower.

@rebelann Back in the day I don't know how we made it without AC. I actually never had AC until I was 24 years old.

I'm sorry. We just went through this twice in the last week and a half. 6 of us yesterday plus 2 dogs were without a.c. and only had one fan! It was tough. What got us through was remembering others deal with much worse every day and focusing on a family movie that we watched together. =)

@LovingMyBabies I know you're too young to remember but when I grew up there was no such thing as AC. In the house or car. I guess we've all gotten spoiled.

That must have been so hard to sleep if it won't get fixed soon.

When I was a kid; all we had was a pot-bellied burning stove @crazyhorseladycx . Me & Mom had to take the sled and go chop wood to haul home. With Iowa winters at 20 below.

It can be almost impossible to keep cool without A/C especially at those temperatures.

Wow you are lucky they were able to fix it and $194 sounds pretty reasonable. Can't imagine being in your part of the US without a/c

I know; don't that figure @JohnRoberts ? As it is when the AC is on I have it set at 80 degrees to conserve.

That's how I grew up @mrki444 . It's harder on us old people with disabilities.
