Can dreams really become a reality?

How many of y'all have considered starting your own business so you can be your own boss and quit your 9-5 or in my case my 8 to whenever. My typical work day is 16 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week.
So lately I have been thinking about all of the skills I do have and using a computer, typing, interacting with customers all day etc and thought hmmm maybe I will start my own business. I have big dreams for this and I am really wanting to do this but sometimes I think " It's just a dream I'll never be able to achieve" but then I think about what I tell my kids all the time. Dreams can become a reality if you just believe in yourself and put in the work because you have to work hard to get to where you want to be.
So now I need input on the types of business I could possibly start and at least maybe try it out. I have been in customer service for 10+ years, I have worked with mortgage companies, I've worked in sales and I know how to manage invoices, production and all that fun stuff. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know. I'd love to hear what y'all think :)

Dreams can indeed become a reality. I was born in a family where my parents decided not to be employed but have their own respective businesses and they were successful at that. I, however, wanted to experience being employed and so I did. Lasted for 6-7 years I think and then I became like my parents. It wasn't tough for me since everything is already there and was made ready for me, I just have to continue what has already been started. But I did put up my own company other than the one that was handed to me by my parents. Running a business can be tough and it needs luck if you are starting from scratch. It's different when it's already a success and just handed down to you.
And I always believe that if you will it, you can do it.

aww thanks! I know that it won't be easy and that it takes a lot of hard work especially just starting out. The good news is if I decide to go ahead and do this, it would just be a part time thing for me until I could use it as a full time thing. I would stay at my current job and wouldn't just leave to jump into something.

I've been thinking about it too but I looked into the market I am afraid it won't be as expected.

I've been doing a lot of research on the things that I like to do and that I know a lot about and after a conversation in a meeting at work the other day I am pulling in the direction of a virtual assistant. The owner of the company I work for was talking about how he outsources all the book keeping and marketing to a family owned business they work from home and the best part about that is you work your own hours so the whole 9-5 thing is done.

As long as your dreams are not utopian, you can make them come true. If the achievement or limit depends on you, then work hard on that. Regarding your skills, I have walked the internet and there are a lot of pages where you can provide your services and make a considerable profit. Good luck and may God guide you on that path.

I wish you the very best with starting a business! You can absolutely do it. =)
I know with God's help I have started a small photography business that's growing-I do photo's for donations only. I love doing what I love while being a blessing!

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication and never giving up. I would suggest looking at what online businesses are good and find out what people say about them and if they really make money on them.

I agree hard work and dedication and not giving up are needed and I live by that when I speak with other people. When thinking about taking that plunge for myself though it makes it harder. I think for me it's not the work itself that i'm looking to do because I have no doubt that I can do it, it's more of getting it started and what I need to do and figuring out the taxes etc sine I have never had to do that on my own.

Not all dreams come to reality. But a dream of having a business is likely to be realized when it's short-term in nature.

It’s tough to answer this. Dreams most certainly can become a reality but you should do your research on what area you’d want to head in should you ever have to quit your job because there are a lot of options out there

Don't think Dreams can become a reality. When you watch something happy or funny before you go to bed, you will have a good nights sleep and wake up feeling good. But if you watch something that upsets you will notice that you will have a nightmare or wake up not feeling too good. Think dreams are what you feed your mind.
